About Bright Harbor

Bright Harbor empowers communities to recover from disaster. Our platform reveals what survivors need, launches programs that get aid moving quickly, and coordinates every stakeholder so a community can work as one.

Our mission is to help every disaster survivor find their way home. We put them at the center of their recovery and give the governments serving them real-time visibility into every case, every gap, and every step forward.

Disasters are getting bigger and more frequent, and helping communities survive them and thrive is the challenge of our time. We build for the moment everything else falls apart. If you want your work to matter on the hardest days people will ever face, come build with us.

About the job

When a survivor opens Bright Harbor after a disaster, what they find is a set of guides and grants that can mean the difference between recovering and giving up. You'll own that experience. This role sits on our Marketing team and owns the in-app resources survivors depend on: the library of recovery guides and the database of resources and grants, kept accurate and relevant for every county, state and every disaster we operate in.

Think of it as owning a content surface as a product. We've already built extensive programs, powered by AI that lets us deliver them at scale, and you'll own them: refining what's there, building on it, and adding the human judgment and care that make the difference. You'll keep it all accurate as programs change and new disasters get declared, work with our Operations team and outside partners to source content, and be measured on one thing above all: how much survivors actually engage with it. Great content no one uses doesn't help anyone recover.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with a lot of detail and a lot of moving parts. It's built for someone early in a product marketing or content product career who wants to own something real, form a point of view on where to take it, and grow into leading the function and a team that supports it as we scale.

It's okay if you aren't an expert in disaster recovery yet. You'll have the full power of Bright Harbor's expertise (and all our partners) to help you.

What you'll do

  • Own our existing library of recovery guides and grants programs: refine what's there, extend it, and bring the human touch that turns good information into something survivors trust and use

  • Keep everything accurate and current per state and per disaster as programs shift and new disasters get declared

  • Work with AI as the engine that delivers this at scale, directing and improving it rather than doing everything by hand, and adding the judgment it can't

  • Bring in and manage contractors when a program needs to scale, and use them to help train and sharpen the AI that powers the library

  • Hunt down new grants wherever they live, working across internal teams and outside sources like partners, agencies, and program administrators to get them into the app

  • Treat engagement as your north star: track how survivors use the content, find what's working, and improve what isn't

  • Work with our Operations team to source content and turn frontline insight into resources survivors can act on

  • Partner with the organizations that bring their grants and educational programs into the app, and own getting that content in, accurate, and engaging

  • Own quality end to end, since survivors make real decisions based on what we publish

  • Form a point of view on where the survivor resource experience should go, and help bring it to life

About you

  • 2 to 5 years in product marketing, product management, or content strategy, probably at a scaled consumer app

  • A gift for taking something complex, like a maze of government grant programs, and making it simple enough for a stressed person to act on from their phone

  • Fluent with AI and always finding new ways to make it work for you, directing it to go faster and deeper while knowing where human judgment has to take over

  • High agency: you take ownership, move fast, and figure things out without waiting to be told what to do

  • Obsessive about accuracy and organization, because here a wrong detail can cost a survivor real money

  • Resourceful about sourcing and managing content from partners, agencies, and other outside sources

  • Genuine care for the mission and a desire to have your work matter
